Pet Stroller Weight Limits Explained

What pet stroller weight limits really mean, how much headroom you need, and why exceeding them is risky.

DRAFT — replace. Placeholder guide copy.

A stroller’s weight limit isn’t a suggestion — it’s the point beyond which the frame, wheels and brakes were never tested. Here’s how to read it properly.

The cabin limit is about safety, not just fit

Manufacturers rate the cabin for a reason: above it, frames flex, swivel wheels can collapse, and the whole stroller becomes more likely to tip on a kerb. Treat the number as a hard ceiling.

Leave headroom

If your dog is 30 kg, don’t buy a 30 kg stroller — buy a 40+ kg one like our big-dog pick. The extra margin means a smoother, safer ride.

Don’t forget the basket

The under-seat basket has its own, much lower limit. Loading it up to get round the cabin rating just moves the failure point.
